Non è tempo di liturgie, di culti della personalità, di schematismi politici. Forse non lo è mai stato, una chiave caricaturale in formule e riti di una grande personalità della storia e rivoluzionario, statista e filosofo comunista. Senza dogmatismi, fu  Ranajit Guha, il fondatore dei Subaltern studies, a studiare il “maoismo” delle rivolte contadine dell’Asia meridionale come architrave politico-ideale di una civiltà rurale di subalterni in cerca della voce della storia.

È il tempo dello studio critico e della ricerca, anche per trovare la strada che, tra Oriente ed Occidente, porta alla trasformazione rivoluzionaria. E infatti lo stesso Guha la trova anche in Gramsci. Non è una ricerca neutra, non è spazio accademico (o solo accademico), ma analisi per il presente. Che vede l’emersione di un grande paese, la Cina, che non sarebbe quella che è oggi senza la costruzione maoista.

This is not a time for liturgies, personality cults, or political schematisms. Perhaps it never was, a caricatural key in formulas and rites for a great personality in history, revolutionary, statesman, and communist philosopher. Without dogmatism, it was Ranajit Guha, the founder of Subaltern Studies, who studied the “Maoism” of South Asian peasant revolts as the political-ideal framework of a rural subaltern civilization seeking the voice of history. It is a time for critical study and research, even to find the path that leads to revolutionary transformation between East and West. Indeed, Guha also finds this path in Gramsci. It is not a neutral search, not merely an academic space, but an analysis for the present. It witnesses the emergence of a great country, China, which would not be what it is today without Maoist construction.
